The Chief Clerk/County Manager is the principal administrative officer of the County who coordinates and facilitates the administrative functions of the County Commissioners. Requirements: Mandatory Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred. Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and computer skills. Effective communication and leadership. Five to ten years of accounting work experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or any equivalent combination of training, education, and relevant experience. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the preparation of agendas and schedules for all regular meetings of the Board of Commissioners. Oversees policies, orders, ordinances, resolutions, and regulations promulgated by the Board of Commissioners. Keeps records of all proceedings of the Board of Commissioners meetings. Confer with any person concerning the affairs of the County Government and provide feedback to the Board of Commissioners. Prepare reports upon the direction of the County Commissioners and with general policy guidance provide objectives to officials and department heads. Assist the Board of Commissioners in the preparation of an annual budget delineating and justifying requests for expenditures for all new programs. Review and approve all requests for budgeted purchases of materials, supplies, and equipment to carry out the business of the County. Management of all aspects of County budget funds. A Law Clerk works directly for the five Cambria County Court of Common Please Judges, assisting the Judge primarily by conducting legal research or draft opinions on issues before the Court. The Lead Park Worker is responsible for supervising and coordinating all maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial projects and day-to-day activities and recreational operations at the Park. Assistant Director of Maintenance & Safety
The Assistant Director supervises a staff of maintenance and custodial workers. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalency is required. Must have knowledge of the methods, practices, materials and tools used in painting, carpentry, electrical and allied trades. Detectives – District Attorney Office
This position investigates criminal incidents, collects and analyzes evidence, locates and interviews witnesses, and otherwise develops and organizes information necessary for the filing of criminal charges, and preparation of cases for prosecution. The County Detective assists other agencies in investigating crimes throughout Cambria County. The County Detective works on caseloads and specific tasks assigned by the Chief County Detective and/or District Attorney. Qualifications: High School and four (4) years of experience as a police officer and/or criminal investigations OR any equivalent combination of experience and training. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator’s license. Meet the requirements of the Police Training Law (Act 120, as amended) and remain certified under the act to function fully as a police officer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Must pass background and credit checks, and be in proper physical and psychological condition. In addition, to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Salary starts at $22.05/per hour. GIS Technician – Tax Assessment Office
This positions is technical work involving the reading of producing of maps and applying distance scales and legends to maps. Must have the ability to understand and operate computer applications used to produce maps, such as but not limited to, ArcGis, MapInfo, and ESRI programs and products and knowledge of database structured query language (SQL). Qualifications: Successful completion of high school or college level course works in geometry, geography, computer-aided drafting, or GIS. One-year experience reviewing and processing land use, taxation, or other documents for identification and recording purposes utilizing computer aided drafting and geometry and three months of experience using AutoCAD and database software for preparation of maps, plans, or engineering drawings. Department Clerk I – Cambria County District Attorney’s Office (Full Time – 35 hours per week)
The Department Clerk I position in the District Attorney’s Office is responsible clerical work of routine specialized departmental duties. These tasks require independent judgement, actions, and a moderate amount of responsibility. Tasks include, but are not limited to, assisting attorneys, preparing criminal files and various documents for criminal court, answering telephone calls/emails, working closely with court officials and members of the public, assisting in criminal trial preparations, and general filing. The employee must possess general computer skills and have a basic knowledge of general software programs such as Microsoft Office. The employee must also conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Reports directly to the Office Manager under the supervision of the District Attorney.
