It is the mission of the Human Resources Department to provide personnel resources and continuously seek to improve upon the systems that support County employees and administrators with the essential functions necessary to fulfill their employment-related needs and objectives.

Services Provided
  • Administers employment-related directives from the County Board of Commissioners
  • Negotiates and administers all collective bargaining agreements between the County and its employees
  • Monitors and refers individuals to Employee Assistance Program resources
  • Administers all employee payroll and benefits
  • Conducts periodic labor/management meetings
  • Sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring and disciplining employees of the County
  • Ensures compliance with all legal regulations and standards
  • Provides support for County agencies and departments
  • Facilitates County wide attendance program
  • Develops, implements and evaluates policies, procedures, job descriptions and compensations relating to County positions
  • Manages Civil Service policies and procedures

Network Administrator/Operations Manager 

Cambria County is seeking qualified applicants for this position in the Technology Department. The Network Administrator/Operations Manager’s role is to maintain all County-owned Firewalls, Switches, Access Points, and network devices.  Install all new network devices and switches. This role will assist the CTO with yearly budgeting for the department and also assist in payroll responsibilities and creating purchase orders.  Starting salary 60k. Booking Center/Records Clerk

Cambria County Prison, Ebensburg , PA, is seeking qualified applicants for the Book Center/Records Clerk position at the Prison. This position is responsible for all secretarial duties for the Cambria County Prison’s records department and Cambria County Central Booking Center. Full-time starting rate of pay is $12.65/hr. Prothonotary – Department Clerk Positions

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, complex clerical work involving making decisions in accordance with County policies and practices. Upper level Clerk positions is responsible for performing a variety of specialized duties with little supervision where experience and judgment are required to understand the purpose of the procedure. Employees must possess general computer skills and have knowledge of basic software programs. Starting salary: $10.56/hour to $12.14/hour. Full-time benefits include Sick days, Vacation, Float and Personal Days, paid holidays, Healthcare/Dental/Vision coverage, and retirement. High School Diploma or equivalent and twelve months of experience in clerical work or an equivalent combination of acceptable training and work experience. 

Tax Claim Office – Account Clerk 1/Float

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, complex clerical tasks requiring some independent judgement in the application of rules, regulations and procedures, computer entry, document prep and account balancing.  Decisions made are limited by established precedent and departmental routines.  Additionally, the position includes performing general clerical functions in other AFSCME Offices, when required.  General directions are received from the Department Director and Head Clerk and work is reviewed in terms of adequacy of performance.  Starting salary: $9.91/hr.  Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume in confidence to: County of Cambria, Gina M. Clerk of Courts Office – Department Clerk I/II

The Department Clerk I/II in the Clerk of Courts Office performs a variety of clerical duties including routine specialized departmental duties.  Duties include but are not limited to answering telephone, taking payments over the counter, take bail bonds, take Summary Appeals, process ARDS and Sentencings, refund bail, filing, docket transfers of Criminal, Traffic and Non-Traffic cases from the District Judge and performs other related duties as assigned.  Must have ability to maintain records, type accurately and establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, attorneys, court officials and the public.  Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and a resume to County of Cambria, Human Resources Department, 401 Candlelight Drive, Suite 239, Ebensburg, PA 15931 or email: humanresources@co.cambria.pa.us.

Maintenance Worker

Part-Time Deputy Sheriff

This position consists of various duties pertaining to both Police functions and the duties of the Sheriff’s Office. A Deputy Sheriff is responsible for transporting adult prisoners, juvenile offenders and other persons, within the County as well as out of the County and out of the State. Work is performed under the supervision of the Sheriff.  High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of responsible experience in law enforcement are preferred.  Must be a resident of Cambria County, at least 18 years of age, and a citizen of the US.  Must never have been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude under the laws of Pennsylvania or any other State.  All applicants must be Act 120, Act 2 or Pennsylvania State Police certified. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check. The applicants must be available for shift work and 1,000 hours per year.  If applicant is not certified, the applicant must sign a form agreeing to become Act 120 certified within 1 year from their date of hire.  Starting salary: $15.00/hr. Duman Lake Summer Workers

The Summer Worker is responsible for general maintenance duties, assisting with construction projects, cleaning the parks grounds and buildings, operating commercial mowers, small landscape related equipment and special functions. Must have the capacity to work both independently and in a team environment.  Ability to adapt to the daily challenges associated with a busy work environment and variety of weather conditions.  Capable of lifting equipment, tables and variety of heavy objects and must be able to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends. Full-Time  & Per-Diem Corrections Officer – Prison

Cambria County Prison, Ebensburg, PA, is seeking individuals to fill open Full-Time & Per-Diem Corrections Officer Positions. Individuals must have, or be willing to complete the mandatory training as required by the Pennsylvania regulations governing adult detention facilities. Full-Time starting rate of pay is $20.95/hr. Per-Diem starting rate of pay is $14/hr. Pay increases based upon the union’s employment contract. Full-Time benefits include sick time, holiday pay, shift differential, personal days, vacation days, Healthcare/Dental/Vision coverage, and retirement. Overtime is available. Telecommunicators – Department of Emergency Services

Candidates engage in receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching personnel and equipment, and providing pre-arrival instructions to callers. Must exercise the ability to think, comprehend, interpret and analyze the root of existing and ever changing situations making appropriate recommendations when receiving emergency or non-emergency calls.
