The Tax Claim Office is responsible for the collection of delinquent school, municipal and county real estate property taxes and it prepares and conducts County tax sales. The office’s mission is to maintain public records of all real estate which possess unpaid taxes and to issue tax lien information when real estate is transferred accordingly.

Our new online payment service is operational. Please use the link below to access the AllPaid payment site. Your WEB ID is the same as it was under the prior system. If you do not know your WEB ID, please call our office and we will provide it for you.
Beginning April 1, 2025, a $250.00 fee will be added to the costs for all properties sold at any tax sale (Upset, Judicial, Private or Repository) pursuant to Cambria County Ordinance #5 of 2024. A copy of the ordinance may be found below.
PRIVATE TAX SALE AUCTIONS:
The next Private Tax Sale Auction will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10:00am in Courtroom #1. Bidder Registration will be from Monday, February 16, 2026 through Friday, February 27, 2026 in the Tax Claim Bureau office. All Bidders must register in person. There are NO EXCEPTIONS. The Bidder Registration fee is $20.00 per bidder, paid in cash on the day of registering.
*****Anyone registering as an LLC MUST bring a fully executed copy of the LLC’s Operating Agreement. Please do not attempt to register without this document. If you are unsure what this document looks like, please consult your attorney. LLC registrants should plan to register early in the registration period so that you have time to obtain the appropriate documents in case what you bring in is inadequate. ***** There will be no documents accepted for registration after Friday, February 27, 2026.
We are currently taking bids for our June 2026 Private Tax Sale and will add properties until March 31, 2026 or until we have 50 parcels, whichever occurs first. MINIMUM BIDS ARE NOW $750.00.
ALL PRIVATE SALES WILL HAVE A CAP OF 50 PROPERTIES. EACH BIDDER WILL BE PERMITTED TO PUT UP TO FOUR PROPERTIES ON THE LIST, PER SALE. This will not preclude anyone from bidding on all eligible properties at the auction.
